In Moldova, they may start turning off water in apartments for several hours a day
The Ministry of Ecology recommended that operators providing water supply services review water supply schedules and, if necessary, introduce hourly supply (supply will be stopped from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00 to restore water supply, in drought conditions.)
It is also recommended to adjust the pressure in the pipelines to the minimum optimal transportation level, ensuring supplies to consumers. The proposals were received in the context of a severe drought that the country is facing. The ministry also rolled out a list of recommendations for the population and farmers — how to save water.
From the point of view of the authorities, in order to ensure irrigation of fields in Moldova (although there are no irrigation systems, equipment, or specialists in the fields), residents of the country should do the following:
- stop watering plants from 8.00 to 21.00, wash sidewalks and cars.
- farmers need to water plants at night. Where to get diesel fuel, payments for work at night — the authorities are not interested in all this.
- turn off the water when brushing your teeth and washing so that the water is not wasted.
- accumulate dishes and laundry in dishwashers and washing machines until fully loaded.
- defrost meat on the table, not under running water.
- water the flowers with water left over from washing fruits and vegetables.
- do not allow water to leak in the toilet
- "There are many ways to save water, it all starts with us," the ministry reports spiritually.
